Wedding Wardrobe & Dresses

Welcome to Day 2 of Wedding Week!
In today’s post I’m sharing lot’s of pics of my wedding day wardrobe and what my groom wore!

Dress- Maggie Sottero

From the moment we started planning our big day, I knew I wanted to wear 2 different dresses! I told my mom, “when else am I going to have a chance to wear a big, white ball gown again in my life?” Probably never, so I definitely wanted to go all out with my ceremony dress! Then for my reception I wanted to tone it down and go with some elegant and comfortable!

For the ceremony I wore a traditional princess style, with a beaded bodice and straps! Funny story about this dress… In August of 2016, right after we got engaged, I went looking for my dress! I tried this one and fell in love! About a year and a half passed and in February 2018 I went back to try on some more… but I still had this one in the back of my mind the entire time. I went about trying on different styles (lace, mermaid, long-sleeve, a-line, etc.) and saved this one for last. I put it on again, came out to show my mom, grandma, and mother-in-law, and we immediately knew it was the one! No questions asked!!! Not only did I feel like a true princess in it, but I couldn’t have asked for a better style dress to go with the theme of our wedding!

Bridesmaid Dresses- Besty & Adam
Slippers – Etsy

For my bridesmaid dresses I originally thought I might do all black. Then we walked in David’s Bridal one day and I knew these were the dresses I wanted my gals in!! Love the velvet top, satin skirt, and high-low hem detail!! Plus, next to the black tuxes, I couldn’t resist! I texted my bridesmaids that day and told them to hurry and order their size! These dresses were made for the ‘prom’ section but in my book, they were bridesmaid dresses all the way!

Danika Robe – BHLDN

I chose this sheer, white chiffon robe to get ready in! It was perfect for the morning of our wedding and felt wonderful in the October weather! Some of my favorite shots were the ones where the wind just took the skirt away! It truly is a feminine, classy style for your wedding day! I’m wearing the XS and it runs TTS!

Meet my flower girl, Lyla Grace! This is my cousins little girl and she was just the cutest thing ever!!!! I adore these pictures!

Thought it might be fun for you all to see some pics of me trying to physically get in my dress! It was a tough one!! I wore an extra hoop skirt underneath my dress to add a little more fluff! I wanted a drastic tulle train and these extra layers really helped!

My momma helped get me ready, then I went down and did my first look with my dad!! These are special moments I’ll cherish forever!

Look at my handsome hubby!!!!! Wow I love him in a tux!!
All the groomsmen wore tuxes with traditional ties! Clint wore a bow tie to set him apart and I loved that! He’s more of a bow tie fan anyway! Our wedding was formal, so it only made sense to have the men decked out in black!

I’ll only wear a white veil once in my life, so I went all out! Mine consisted of 2 layers! The top layer, which covered my face as I walked down the aisle, had a beaded, glistening trim. The bottom layer was long and flowed past my train! After our wedding pictures I took it off and kept my hair the same!

Dress- Sherri Hill
(I’ve looked every where online for this specific style and can’t locate it. I remember them telling me it was an older style but still available… if you have any luck finding it, shoot me a message so I can link it for everyone! TY!)

As for my reception dress, I went with a sleek, classy, low back style! I wanted something I could move/dance in, and this was it! It had no beading, lace, or details. It was just a simple dress, made for the night of 10.20.2018! If you are considering wearing 2 different dresses I always say mix up your styles!! Have 2 completely different looks that scream bride and you can’t live without! If you’re expecting a chilly night, grab a fur stole to keep you warm and fancy!
