Welcome to Day 6 of Wedding Week!
Today’s post features the last and final one of the #candtengagedatsea wedding series.
I’m getting kind of nostalgic typing this right now, because I’ve been living my wedding over and over this past week. Now that I’ve shared it all with you it finally seems real.. like that day really did happen! As a bride it’s so easy to get lost in the moment’s of your big day. Looking back through the camera lens I’ve gotten to see memories I never witnessed and emotions I barely remember experiencing. It really was all a whirlwind of happiness and bliss. And these past 3 months of marriage has been the same! I’m a lucky gal to call James Clint Johnson my husband!
Welcome, Please be Seated
When entering our ceremony, the first thing you saw was this framed board. We created it to help guests find their tables! We didn’t do exact seats, we just assigned them to tables. We had around 425 guests, so we knew it would make things a little less chaotic if we gave out table #’s.
Clint and I were still taking pictures when all the guests filtered to the reception location. By the time we arrived they were in their seats, with a served salad and bread on the table.
There were honestly so many pictures it was hard to pick and choose which ones to feature our decor! Hopefully this gives you all an idea of our table settings, flower arrangements, and layout!
What’s on the Menu?
During cocktail hour guests were served hors d’oeuvres, champagne, beer, and water. When they found their tables the salads were already plated and menu cards set up. We did this so our guests could see what we serving and we attached a small thank you note at the bottom!
Clint and I had our own little private table! Although we didn’t sit much, it was a place we retreated to throughout the night to sip on champagne, eat cake, and switch out my heels!
I asked Clint what we wanted on his groomsmen cake and he told me I could decide! So here is what I came up with!! It’s a layered work of art, that consists of all his favorite things! University of Kentucky basketball, aquariums, fish, guitar, and our two sons!! This cake was a huge hit at the wedding!
Our First Dance
We danced to a mix up of songs! I created it, then had Clint go back and tweak some adjustments and timing! Here are the songs in order:
- You’re Still The One – Shania Twain
- You Make My Dreams – Hall & Oates
- Your Smiling Face – James Taylor
- This Years Love – David Gray
It was a mix up of fun, romantic genres that let us do a variety of dance moves!
Daddy, Daughter Dance
Ever since I was little, my dad and I have had a song.. ‘Butterfly Kisses’. Without a doubt it is was what I’ve always dreamed of dancing to, with him, at my wedding! ‘The Downtown Band’ actually performed it for us and it was spectacular!! Special, special memories!
Mother, Son Dance
After our dances and musical exchange, we said a prayer, and the tables were dismissed to get food! This is when I went and changed into my 2nd dress!
Best Man Speech
After dinner we continued with speeches! We had a pretty strict timeline for the entire night! I wanted to do all the festivities at the beginning so we had time to dance and enjoy ourselves for the rest of the night!
And We Danced the Night Away..

And a huge THANK YOU to my mom and mother-in-law for helping me plan my dream wedding! Without these 2 women October 20th wouldn’t have been the same!! To my family and friends, thank you always for your endless support in my marriage! Y’all make this life worthwhile!
To my husband, I love you… and reminiscing on these pictures has brought tears to my eyes over the past few days.. You’re my soulmate and I can’t wait to live out the rest of my days with you.
