Gender Reveal Party

Blue Dress | Balloon Garland (and another option) | Swan Cups | Cupcake Toppers | ‘Oh Baby’ Advice Cards | Plush Teddy Bear
A week ago from yesterday we celebrated the gender of Baby Johnson!
Clint and I gathered with our family and closest friends to find out if our baby was going to be a girl or boy! It was such an exciting afternoon filled with so much love and joy!
Our theme for the reveal was swans! And of course baby blue and pink! The main highlight was the balloon garland! So many of you girls asked how I made it. I ordered a kit off Amazon and it was super easy! It came with the right size balloons and a clear plastic strip that you attached the balloons to. Once I blew up the balloons I just started attaching them to it (through these little holes). It was actually pretty simple but it just took a while. Next time I’m going to invest in a balloon pump to help me blow up all the balloons!
Another one of the most common questions I received was how we did our reveal! We decided to play a little game with spray paint! If you notice in the pictures you’ll see a line of spray cans that were all painted gold. My mom lined various colors up and one of them was either pink or blue. Clint and I went down the line, and one by one we sprayed each can until we got to the color PINK!!!! Clint was the one who sprayed it and as soon as we saw it he started writing the word, ‘GIRL’! We turned around and started smiling/cheering with everyone! Not going to lie, it was a little emotional. Right after we found out I shared a story about how Clint and I thought it was a girl. A lady we go to church with had a dream that Dexter (Clint’s dad) said from heaven, “Pray for the baby.. pray for the baby girl.” She had the dream this past spring, before I was even pregnant, and we held onto that as a sign from God. We found faith in knowing that God would bless us with a child when the timing was right. When it happened we both just had this feeling it was going to be a girl. Right before we walked out to do our reveal someone asked me, “So.. seriously.. what do you think it is?” I was like, “honestly a girl!” And now here we are! We’ve been seeing pink ever since!
I’m one of those people who likes to plan and have everything done early. So as soon as we found out it was a girl I went in to my ‘go mode’! Mom and I took a trip to Nashville and started planning for the nursery! This past weekend Clint and I started getting her closets ready! And of course there’s been an endless amount of shopping! I’ve been researching all the best products, toys, registry must haves, and more! I want to be as prepared as I can when she makes her arrival! Plus it’s such an exciting, fun time of life that I can’t help but think about it everyday, all day! God is soooo good!! And we are so blessed!!! Can it just be February already!?
p.s.- I think Clint is more ready than I am!
& here are a few more pics I snapped with my phone!
