Christmas around the Johnson House
Oh ‘Deer’, Christmas is almost here!
Really though.. it seems like everywhere I turn Christmas is in my face. From the Starbucks cups, to the trees at Home Goods, and the Christmas lights downtown, everyone is prepping for the holiday season! (Including me!) Before we left on our trip I decorated the house so we could enjoy it as soon as we got back! Snapped some pics and wanted to share with you all in case you needed some inspiration! Enjoy!

‘There’s SNOW place like HOME,’ and that is especially true during the holiday season! From the twinkling lights, fresh pine scent, glass ornaments, nativity scenes, Christmas music, classic holiday movies, neatly wrapped presents, baking, and family traditions, the magic of Christmas starts in your heart and unwraps in your home!

It’s not what’s under the tree that matters, it’s who’s gathered around it. I kept this in mind when decorating our living room. Neutral colors and timeless decor allows the focus to stay on the true warmth and joy of Christmas: family, friends, and the miracle of Baby Jesus.

It’s Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air. That’s especially true when it comes to our ‘bedroom tree.’ Each year my grandparents give us a Christopher Radko ornament for our tree. It’s become a tradition that we continually look forward to. Along with those ornaments, my husband and I like to collect ones from all the places we’ve visited together. The tree in our bedroom is filled with some of our favorite memories, with each ornament being a symbol of times we shared together!

Every time I walk in my kitchen I think, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year!” Since most of my time is spent standing over the island, cooking, or seated at my bar, I kept my kitchen decor fun, classic, and cute! I wanted to be able to look at all my decorations and let them each bring back a special memory, tradition, or Christmas wish!

With a splash of leopard and black stripes, our basement tree is quite chic! I had some fun designing this tree and decorating it for the holiday! I always like to start with the tree topper and make my way to the bottom! The key is lots of ribbon, ornaments, and extra sparkles for shine!
