Fall, Lace Dress

Dress NA-KD  Hat Halogen  Shoes Steve Madden  Necklace Red Dress Boutique

Friday!!  Friday!!  Friday!!
Cheers to the weekend! For the first time in about a month I finally don’t have weekend plans! Honestly, it feels a little weird. I’m use to traveling, running here, & going there. It’s going to be nice to have some down time and relax! C got dinner reservations for tonight. We are trying out a new place, called Portifino. It’s Italian… right up my alley!

Since it’s date night I might even wear this lil number!!
To say I’m obsessed with this dress would be a total understatement… I’m overly obsessed!  I love everything about it! The color is great for fall! The silhouette is beautiful on! & those lace details are perfection! They give the dress a feminine feel, with a hint of edginess!

Heads up, the top lace is totally see through. However, I wore a black bra underneath and it blended in very well. Black were my go to accessories with this look! Black hat, black shoes, and black necklace!

Today’s Post is c/o of NA-KD!  Head to their site and shop some dresses!
Hope you all have a tremendous weekend!

Hollywood & L.A.

Top & Jeans Zara  Bralette Urban Outfitters  Earrings (similar pair)

About a week ago I ventured out on a family trip, clear across the United States, and contemplated ever coming home! I totally loved it out there!  So many things to do and see. So many places to eat and shop! Like most travelers, I fell in love Hollywood & L.A.

Here are some of my recommendations on where to eat, stay, and shop!

  • Rodeo Drive- this is the main street for upscale shopping! Even if you aren’t looking to spend a lot of money it’s still a neat area to check out and walk around
  • 3rd Street Promenade- This shopping complex was near our hotel. It had a variety of different stores consisting of all the brand names!
  • Urth Caffe- my brother took us here the first afternoon we were in L.A.!  Their pizzas/flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, & desserts were great!  we sat outside and enjoyed our lunch! This cafe was definitely a hot spot! It was very busy… but now I know why 😉
  • Lemonade- one of my sorority sisters actually recommended this restaurant & it was amazing! Their salads were delicious!
  • Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel – since we only stayed at 1 hotel, it’s all I can really recommend! However, we gave it a 5 star rating! The rooms were very nice, modern, and clean! At night we enjoyed sitting outside around the fire pits, sipping on our drinks!
Places to See
  • Venice Beach- This is a fun little area to walk around! They’ve got entertainment on the streets, food booths, and lots of little knick knack shops.
  • Santa Monica Pier- If you’re in the mood for a sundae or ferris wheel ride, check out the pier! I recommend going at sunset! You’ll have the prettiest view of the beach!
  • The Ellen Show- this was pretty much the main reason we went to L.A.! If you can get tickets, go!!! & check out the Warner Bros Studio as well!
  • Griffith Observatory- Although we didn’t have time to tour the facility I would’ve loved to! If I ever go back I’m going to have to check it out! We drove by it when we were looking for the Hollywood Sign and it seemed pretty neat!

I’m hoping to head back out there sometime in the near future! If you have any other recommendations send them my way!!

Embroidered Dress & White Duster

Dress  |  Duster  |  Boots (mine are YSL, but linking similar ones)  |  Layered Choker Necklace

An edgy look, with girly style.. y’all feel me!??
I’m totally into these studded boots right now and they have literally been on repeat! I wear them with practically all of my dresses these days.. no matter the style, I throw these on & go!  love, love, love the studded trend!

So I got this dress last minute, on sale, from Red Dress Boutique. I remembered modeling it and really liking it. Wasn’t sure when I was going to wear it since it does appear to be more of a summer time dress. However, when I put it on with the duster and boots, I thought it looked perfect for this season. And great for the September heat!

I’m wearing a layered choker necklace, c/o of Charming Charlie! These are so in style right now! I have a feeling I’m going to wear the black choker by itself a lot, then the layered necklace by itself as well.  It’s like having 3 necklaces, all for the price of $18!

Ok switching gears now… Last night we saw Bruno Mars!!!!!!! Oh my goodness it was beyond amazing! Not only is he a phenomenal singer and dancer, he’s just an all around great entertainer! And for the record, he does sound even better on stage! The entire time I kept thinking he was like a mini Michael Jackson. Seriously so good! If you ever have an opportunity to get tickets for his show don’t pass them up! It’s a concert you won’t want to miss!
I posted some stories on my Instagram & Snapchat! You can go check them out so see a little more of his set!

Cardigan & Ripped Denim

Cardigan Free People  Tank Karen Kane  Ripped Jeans Red Dress Boutique  Booties Carlos by Carlos  Bag Alexander Wang  Monogram Necklace Argento Vivo

Up early this morning because I can’t contain my excitement… I’m off to meet my mom in Louisville and guess what we are doing!? I’ll give you a hint.. It has to do with music!  Stay tuned to my Insta-stories or Snapchat to see where we’re headed!

So if y’all remember a couple weeks back I did a shoot with SheaLeigh. We started gearing up for fall and styled our favorite looks. This outfit was one from that day. Seeing it on screen makes me love it even more. I’m wearing a Free People cardigan that I got on sale. It’s also available in an ivory color but there are only a few sizes left.  Nordstrom & Free People had some different options in stock.

To keep the look simple and fall-ish I paired a basic tank and light, ripped denim with the cardigan. This is what I would throw on to run around town in or wear to a casual dinner. It’s comfortable, cozy, and cute!  My three favorite C’s!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
xoxo, T

Can you all believe it’s already September 18th? I can’t… I know I say it all the time, but where do the days go? really? I feel like it was just April and I was asking myself the same thing. Last week I was in a store and they were getting out the Christmas decor. We haven’t even made it to Halloween or Thanksgiving!?  Can we just slow down.. Before long it’s going to be 2018.. then I’m going to feel really old.. haha

I think time is always flying by because I’m so busy and every week I feel like I’m in a different location.  From my hometown, Clint’s hometown, the lake, India, L.A… it’s been a crazy couple of months! I’m not complaining though.. definitely very thankful for all the experiences I’ve encountered this year!

Speaking of trips, this outfit made it’s debut in L.A. Since the temps are in the 60’s/70’s in the morning and evening, jeans and long sleeve tops were the best thing to wear. These jeans were a pair I bought last spring. Since then I’ve gotten so much wear out of them. They are a great fit, TTS, very comfortable, and high-waisted! Definitely recommend getting a pair. For the top, I loved it so much I bought it in white too. You can never go wrong with a clean blouse and some ruffles!

Also, did I mention the shoes and top are both on sale! Shop them both by clicking on the links above or the pics below.

“When Life Gets Blurry, Focus Your Lenses”

This a quote you are going to want to remember… or at least I think so!  In today’s world, with all the hustle and bustle, it’s so easy to get lost. I think we can all relate to that in some way. I’m definitely guilty of it. I’m surrounded by so many distractions that cause me to get wrapped up in my own life and I forget what’s really important. Sometimes I have to stop myself and think about how lucky I truly am… that goes hand in hand with the quote ^.. I have stop, focus, and get back on the right setting!

Next time you catch yourself doing one of these things:

  • over-thinking
  • worried about your image
  • troubled by what tomorrow might bring
  • completing a project at work
  • an upcoming test
  • a family issue
  • love and friendship struggles
  • & etc.

I encourage you to stop. focus. count your blessings. & remember what setting you want to capture your future in! Picture me in the background, pointing my finger, saying these things to you (insert laughing emoji)

Life’s what you make of it!! It’s not always perfect, but it’s memorable. Never let your happiness get robbed!

& with that, I hope you all have a Happy Friday & wonderful weekend!

p.s.- Is this dress too adorable or what!? I tried to chic it up with my edgy boots!

Floral Romper

Romper Red Dress Boutique  Wedges Marc Fisher  Name Necklace Soufeel Jewelry  Ring David Yurman  Ring Kendra Scott  Purse Prada  Earrings (linking similar ones)

I love rompers! If you’ve been following me for a while then you probably already know that!  This past spring I got in a romper mood and I felt like they were the only things I ever wore. I have to remind myself to put on shorts or jeans sometimes! haha! They are so comfortable and I think that’s why I love them so much! Especially the ones that are loose fitting or flowy, like this one ^ I got this one from Red Dress Boutique, during their Labor Day sale. It’s still marked down for $38 and all sizes are available.

When I started packing for L.A. I knew this was coming with me! I ended up wearing to our Sunday morning brunch, at ‘The Beach Club’.  The fit and style were great for the occasion and 70 degree weather. Originally, I styled some taupe booties with it then decided to go with these Marc Fisher wedges. I figured I might as well get some last minute wear out of them while I still have time! But if you’re looking to wear this into fall booties would be adorable with it as well.

For accessories, I went with my typical rings and favorite name necklace! These are pieces of jewelry that I wear over and over again. Some were a splurge but they definitely worth it. Jewelry will last you forever and you can wear it daily! Go get them while you can!

Alright, now I am off to my first Cycle Class in Lex.. I signed up for the 5:30 A.M. class and here I am typing this at 4:30… what was I thinking!?

My Trip to The Ellen Show!

Dress Red Dress Boutique  Shoes Steve Madden

(excuse some of the blurry photos! I just wanted to throw them in there for y’all to see!)

My aunt and cousin somehow lucked out and both got tickets for the Ellen Show, on the same day! From what I’ve heard it’s extremely hard to get your hands on tickets. Typically people will go and wait on standby hoping they get in. My cousin, Kate, got online one night and it said tickets avaialbe. Her and her mom ended up calling and going through a long process to get these tickets. They got approved and each had 4 tickets a piece! That’s when they asked us if my mom and I would want to go!  Originally, I wasn’t planning on going to L.A.  Things have been so crazy lately I just didn’t know if I wanted to take another long trip. So my dad and mom said they would gladly take the tickets and they would go!  Up until last Wednesday it was just them going.  Then my brother called and said he wanted to go to L.A. and I should come too.  We booked our tickets and made it a family trip! Couldn’t tell you the last time the 4 of us (my mom, dad, brother, and I) just went on a trip.  So this was great!

My dad gave up his Ellen ticket so my mom and I could go together! We woke up Monday morning, got ready, and headed out to Warner Bros. Studio.  It was about a 45 minute drive from Santa Monica and the whole car ride up there we were worried we were going to be late. From everything we read it said, “get there early.” “Be at the front of the line.”  Right at 11 A.M. we checked in, got our stamps, and then went to grab lunch. We were told to report back at 1:30 and from there we would start entering the studio. This is when we hopped in line and luckily got in the very front. Our group had #’s 7-14. Which means we got to go in pretty early. As we walked in to be seated my cousin and I asked if we could sit in the front row. I think since we were some of the first ones in there they happily said yes! and just like that, we had the best seats in the house.

The episode we attended aired yesterday. The special guests were Heidi Klum, Billy & Emily England (roller skaters from America’s Got Talent), TunDe Hector and Chris Wright (they had an act of kindness story), and Billie Lourde (American Horror Story).  Throughout the show I kept thinking to myself, “This is so surreal. I can’t believe I’m witnessing this.”  But at the same time all the guests seemed so real and genuine. It was like they are normal people too!

This experience was definitely one for the Bucketlist and I’m thankful I got to check it off!  It’s not everyday you get to go watch Ellen Degeneres. So happy I booked that last minute ticket out to L.A.  It was a wonderful show and trip, along with some good quality time with my fam!

Free People Olive Sweater

Sweater Free People  Denim Express  Booties Steve Madden  Bralette Urban Outfitters  Wool Hat Halogen

Happy, Happy Monday to all!!!  While I feel like everyone is jet setting to New York Fashion Week, I’m doing the exact opposite! Clear on the other side of the United States is where you’ll find me!  On the streets of Los Angeles! I flew in Friday night and leave tomorrow. It was a very last minute trip and a quick one at that. My cousin got tickets for the Ellen show a while back and ended up having extras. At first my mom and dad were like, “yeah we’ll take them!” Then my brother booked a ticket here.. and that determined my decision.. I had to come too! So today, my mom and I are using the two tickets and we’re headed to see Ellen! I seriously can’t tell you guys how excited I am! Can’t wait to share lots of pics and videos with y’all!

Aside from L.A. the only new things in my life right now have to do with my fall wardrobe! I’ve got some really good looks coming through out the next two weeks but I wanted to share this one first. Loved this Free People sweater so much I actually bought it another color! I got the olive in an XS and the mauve color in a small (so I could wear it as a dress- you’ll see that look soon)! They run big so I suggest sizing down. Sweaters like these are great to have in your closet because you can throw them on & go, lounge in them, or even dress them up for a date night! Definitely recommend!

Cup of Piper’s & Bell Sleeves

Top MakeMeChic  Jeans TopShop  Belt Merona  Slip-On Sneakers Guess

Located in downtown Paducah (my future residence), tucked away in the corner of the old Coca Cola Building, you’ll find Piper’s Tea & Coffee! I went for the first time about a year or two ago, with C, and I have been hooked ever since! It’s the Matcha Grenadine that has me always coming back! It’s probably one of my all time favorite drinks!! During blueberry season they also serve a blueberry matcha drink that’s to die for! It’s a close second on my drink menu! Clint prefers the classic Cold Brew and that’s always a good choice as well!

If you’re ever around Paducah I highly suggest checking out this spot!! It’s a great place to unwind, sip on some coffee, or enjoy a croissant!

Visit their website to view the menu & read about how they got started!

As for my outfit, I’m wearing this darling, bell sleeve top! It’s made from cotton and is super comfy! The three tiered sleeves add a fun mix to it and make the top a little more dramatic! It’s a great, casual day look!
Shop it from the links above or by clicking on the pics below!
