Luxury Scent Box

Sign up your monthly Luxury Scent Box Here

Luxury Scent Box is a company that allows you to “explore your senses, one fragrance at a time”.

To all y’all more about it, t’s a monthly subscription to a variety of authentic designer fragrances. You start off by discovering what types of scents you might like by being paired with a fragrance specialist that will help match you to your preferences. From there you can create a profile, take a short survey, and receive all your recommendations. Each month you can add scents to your calendar and create a timeline for receiving which ones you want. Then, for $15 you recieve .30 fl oz. of a luxurious smell, in a travel size case. Personally, I love these fragrance bottles because they are small. Makes them great for traveling, to keep in your bag, or throw in your car. I have mine scattered everyone. My apartment, my parent’s house, my car, in purses. You never know when you might need a spritz to freshen you up!

Another great thing about this box is that it allows you to test out a variety of fragrances. I’m super picky when it comes to my perfumes. I have a sensitive sense of smell, so the littlest aroma can give me a headache. When I was asked which types I was drawn to I knew exactly how to describe my preferences. Now they send me ones tailored to my wants and I get to see which ones I really like. When I find a favorite, I keep it in mind, yet I still keep testing others as well.

For $15 a month I say give it a go! I have a feeling y’all are going to love trying out all the designer fragrances as much as I Do!

You can also sign up for the Luxury Scent Box “Extras”:

  • Choose any fragrance during the month
  • $18 each
  • Includes Case (love my black velvet case. I never have to worry about it leaking out)
  • Free Shipping (ships wishing 1-3 business days after your order is placed)

Microblading Review

Hi pretty gals,

I’m here today to talk about my most recent beauty treatment, microblading!  Let me start off by saying if you are from Kentucky or live around the Lexington area, I highly recommend Holly at Feather & Blade. She is absolutely wonderful! I couldn’t be more pleased with how my brows turned out and the overall experience.

For starters, this is something I have been thinking about doing for the past couple of months. I didn’t just wake up one day and say, “oh I think I’ll have my brows done.” There was a lot of consideration taken into account, along with the pros and cons.

My normal hair color is a dirty blonde but since I get highlights I consider myself a blonde. My eyebrows are fairly similar to the color of my roots (dirty blonde) and they are thin. I usually like to fill them in with a matte or eyebrow pencil and you all probably know how old that can get. That’s when I really started considering the microblading procedure. (Fun fact about my brows, they’ve never been waxed or died. I rarely even pluck them. So to be quite honest I don’t do a lot of maintaining on them. I’d just fill them in when I got ready and call it a day.)  I knew this would be a beauty hack that would shave off some time when I’m getting ready and no matter the day or the hour I would always have the brows that I want and like! That led me to watching youtube videos, blog reviews (like the one that I’m writing now), and topic discussions all about microblading. When I decided I for sure wanted to do it, I booked an appointment, and never looked back.

As soon as I got to Feather & Blade Holly addressed all of my concerns and answered all of my questions. I have to admit  I was pretty nervous before the procedure and still had a shred of doubt. Would it hurt? How long would it last? How dark will my brows be? Will this change my entire look? Will you be able to see the strokes? Will it look natural? All the questions you all have thought of, I guarantee I did too. If you are going to get this procedure I suggest being open and honest from the get go. You’ll feel 100X better and confident that you made the right decision. Ask all the questions, it never hurts!!

Now let’s dive straight into the details all you are wondering about! At the end I’ll briefly be answering most of the common questions I got from you all!

Step by Step of my procedure:

  1. First I signed my paperwork, discussed my concerns with Holly, and asked her all of my questions.
  2. We went on to take the ‘before’ photos, then I removed my face makeup, and she applied a numbing cream.
  3. After that we headed to where the magic happens! She led me to her chair and put the measuring tool on my face. It was a sticky adhesive material that didn’t hurt at all. This was the step when it really got real for me!
  4. She marked up the lines where she thought the shape looked the best. From there she handed me a mirror and we both went back and forth on a couple of touch ups. Once I figured out the shape and arch I wanted it was time to begin.
  5. Before taking the micro blade to my brows she removed the numbing cream and explained we would be doing 3 passes (1 pass is both the right & left brow). She advised me that the first pass would hurt and she was right!  The first round, when my brows were becoming familiar to the blade, feeling, and lidocaine was the most painful. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being minimal pain, 10 being unbearable pain) I would say it’s about a 6 or 7. It’s more of an uncomfortable, unusual feeling, than a piercing feeling. I have one tattoo on my finger and I was expecting this procedure to be about the same. Let me tell ya, for those of you who have tattoos, microblading hurts way less!!! Although it’s a bunch of tiny blades brushing into your skin, it’s not a needle piercing deep.
  6. As she does she each pass she applied lidocaine. That helped numb the entire area throughout the procedure. After the 1st pass she let me look in the mirror and see what I thought. We came to the consensus that the first color we chose, Taupe, may have been a little too light. You could really notice a difference since the color just blended in with my skin and eyebrows.  We decided to try one shade darker and I immediately loved it.
  7. After finishing the 2nd and 3rd pass Holly handed me the mirror and said, “take a look.” As soon as I sat up I was like, “omg I’m in love.” Within 30 minutes I had the brows I had been dreaming about.
  8. In 6 weeks I will head back for a touch up. This will give my brows time to heal and set to the normal color. After that we can see what we need to fill in or add.

Common Questions:

  • Did it Hurt? a little bit.. after a while I got use to the pain & the lidocaine set in.
  • Do I love it? OMG, yes!!! So happy with the color and shape! would definitely recommend to everyone who is considering this procedure!
  • What was the scariest part? The fear of the micro blade. I was scared it was really going to hurt!! Like super sacred. (when I got my tattoo I passed out because of the adrenaline and my nerves – so I really didn’t want this to happen!)
  • How did you know what shape you wanted? I wasn’t entirely sure what shape I wanted until I saw her marks in the mirror.  I knew I wanted more of an arch and definition. At first I had a pointy edge on the outer part that we made a little rounder. That was the only big shape correction we made from her original marks.
  • How did you know what color you wanted? At first we tried ‘Taupe’. We applied it the first pass and noticed it wasn’t as dark as I hoped for. We went one shade darker and it turned out perfectly. Just ask your artist what color they recommend and compare your options.
  • How is the healing process? It’s going great. I’ve noticed some slight color changes, but overall very good.
  • Did yours scab? There’s some scabbing around the top area of my brow where she made more strokes. Surprisingly they don’t itch as bad as I thought they would. Normally when my skin heals it itches but my brows are definitely tolerable.
  • Would you do it again? Oh yes, definitely! Absolutely!

As I said before, I definitely recommend this procedure if you’ve been thinking about it for a while. I would just advise you to consider everything I discussed and if you think new brows are fom you!

Must Have Eye Make-Up Products

Eyeliner MAC– I am a huge fan of the MAC ‘Pro Long” Eyeliner. It is easy to apply and has a creamy feel to it. This is what I typically wear on a day to day basis.

Brushes MAC– I’ve learned that brushes are an investment. They are one of the makeup tools that go hand in hand with, ‘what you pay for is what you get’. Over the years I have stocked up on my brushes but they are something I use almost everyday! I recommend the MAC ones because they are great quality, have tremendous bristles, are easy to clean, and very reliable!

Mascara Mary Kay– I’ve been a Mary Kay mascara fan for about eight years now! I am convinced that I will never find another mascara that I love more than this one! Sometimes I believe that it’s not so much about the mascara but it’s more about the brush you use to apply it. We all have different eyelashes and styles, but for me this is my go-to! I always recommend the Lash Love because it’s not water proof (easily comes off without damaging your lashes), it doesn’t clump, and it has wonderful volume!

Eyelash Curler Sephora– I have been on the hunt for years now for a good eyelash curler. I use to use a Mary Kay one and when it broke I couldn’t find any that worked quite as well.

Beige Shimmer Brow Enhancer Sephora – I use this to make a distinct line between my eyebrows and eyelashes. Since I typically wear shimmer eye shadows I chose the beige shimmer color. When applying it be careful not to press too firmly. You want the line to be minimal and not too noticeable.

Eyebrow Gel Cream Lancome– I walked into Sephora and asked, “what’s the best thing I can use to make my eyebrows look fuller, yet still natural?” she led me to this Lacome product and I am officially obsessed! I went with the ‘Taupe’ that’s about one shade darker than my natural eyebrow. This color gives me a little more definition and adds a little more drama to my eyes! I love it!

Eyebrow Brush Anastasia– This brush was recommend by someone at Sephora and it is wonderful! There are two different style tips. I use one of the ends to apply my gel cream. The bristles are thin which creates small strokes of the gel giving you a very natural look!  The other end I use to brush my eyebrows. It use to seem silly to me why anyone would brush their eyebrows then a makeup artists once asked me, “would you leave your house without brushing your hair?” That really stuck with me and ever since then I’m a believer in taming those eyebrows! Snag this brush to apply your eyebrow gel and brush, brush, brush!

Brushstroke Liner MAC– Trade your liquid eyeliner in for this brushstroke liner and you won’t regret it! I use this product for applying my eyeliner on my top lid. It has a brush tip that makes precision easier when applying the eyeliner. I’ve also noticed this liner dries quicker than other ones I have tried before! That’s a feature I really like since I am always in a hurry!

*** May the wings of your eyeliner always be even and the only drama you enjoy is in your lashes!***

Nighttime Skin Routine with Enza Essentials

Today, for the first time ever, I am going to be discussing my skin care routine! I know I normally chat with y’all about clothes, fashion, and jewelry so this a little outside of my norm! However, I’ve received a couple questions about this topic over the past couple of months so I figured it was time to share! I am going to try to answer all the questions y’all have had and please let me know if you have any more.

Over the past year I have been trying to take better care of my skin. In my new years resolution post and the college letter I wrote to myself (blog post) I said, “I wish I took better care of my skin!”  Now, with Enza Essentials, I am feeling better than ever about my skin, especially around my facial area! I started using the Complete Sustaining System regimenabout a month ago and have slowly started seeing great results! I am going to take you all through a step-by-step night time routine. This way you can see what products I use, how I apply them, and what areas they target.

Step 1: Sustaining Cleanser

This cleanser is a lightweight gel that lifts away the makeup and dirt from your skin. It helps maintain a natural level of moisture and softens the skin. I noticed after using this my skin is more smooth and feels very nourished.

Step 2: Fine Facial Polish

I use this product twice a week since it is a scrub. It contains rice bran that absorbs oil from your skin. The salicylic acid in the polish also helps exfoliate your pores. They say you can use this product as a mask but I haven’t yet! I bet it would be great to leave on a for a bit then scrub off!

Step 3: Cool Sustaining Toner

I highly recommend using a toner! This is a product that will help tone and texture your skin! It replenishes, brightens, and revitalizes your skin. I want smooth, blemish-free skin, so I use this constantly. I’ve noticed it helps balance my coloring, sun spots, and softens some scarring I have.

Step 4: Glycol Serum

The second to last steps helps offer a mild exfoliation. The serum includes aloe vera, vitamin A, and vitamin E. It works to refine your skin and hydrate it.

Step 5: Sustaining Glow Creme

I’ve heard so many myths about applying moisturizer to your skin after using a regimen. “Don’t use that it will clog your pores.” “The heavy lotion will just cause more breakouts.” I got to the point where I actually started listening to the reviews and my skin suffered.  Ladies, it’s so important to use a creme in the morning and night. Your skin needs hydration! It’s important to find the right creme for your skin and apply it correctly.

I also have a morning routine that I use with the Enza Essential products. It consists of 4 steps (sustaining cleanser, cool sustaining toner, vitamin C serum, and advanced SPF protection). Applying the Vitamin C serum helps hydrate my skin and the SPF is a skin protector. My dermatologist once told me if their is any product I should apply in the morning it should be SPF. We never realize how damaging the sun can keep and what times we are exposed. Just driving down the road in your car can cause sun exposure and you probably don’t even realize it! My tip to y’all – wear the sunscreen!

You can shop the Enza Essential collections at their website, When you receive your regimen you will also get a folder that contains everything you need to know! I found the product sheets and information very helpful! It shares what ingredients are in each product, the purpose of them, and the benefits you are receiving!

If y’all have any more questions about today’s post please send them my way or comment below!

Have a great weekend!

I have truly loved each of these products and highly suggest giving them a try!! They can also make for great gift boxes for any occasion!!

Emerald City Shuga-Bubs

This may now very well be my all time favorite scrub! For starters, the smell is so so fresh!! and the aroma fills my bathroom leaving a trace of cucumber- which I love 😉  The exfoliating beads in the soap are also great– love the moisturizing touch! also, did I mention it has Japanese matcha tea infused in it!!!  pour on those antioxidants and heel your skin!!

Eye Makeup

Anastasia Brow Gel  |  Anastasia Brow Wiz

For all you eyebrow lovers out there, these 2 things need to be your next purchase!  I apply the brow wiz pencil first, which is great for coloring in your brows! It gives you the perfect color, definition, and brings details to your eyes!! Brush first with one end, then color with the other! After that I use the tinted brow gel to add fullness and highlights to my brow hair! I never used this product before but after this week I never want to walk out of the house without it!! It does a great job filling in brow hairs & shapes them perfectly!

ever since I started wearing eyeliner, in like 8th grade, I’ve been committed to the MAC brand. I just love the pixel look it leaves on my eyes, the creamy texture of it, how it lasts all day, and is averrable in so many colors!

MAC Eye Brushes

It’s so important to use the right brush when it comes to applying eyeshadows or eye makeup.  To get the look you want, blend perfectly, and mix & match your colors, make sure you read up on what brush to use and when.  I know over the past couple of years I have been lazy when applying my shadows, but just recently I was taught by a makeup artist on how to use various brushes.  It really does make a world of difference!

Lip colors, Lip Shades, Lipsticks

Gold Lipstick Stand

repeat after me.. “I can never have too many lipsticks.. the more options, the better” & I whole heartedly believe that.. I am a sucker for new lip colors, lipsticks, lip pencils, and lip gloss.. it takes me a while to go through each tube, but I get bored wearing the same ones over & over again… so I always end up buying more & convincing myself it’s a good thing because I like switching it up!  Below are some of my all time favorites & ones that I highly recommend!

MAC Favorites

Sephora Favorites

  • Rouge Cream Lipstick — I am a sucker for the color Magnetism! it’s the perfect dark brown shade, with a hint of sheer/sparkle! I wore it all winter long, but still looks great with summer outfits if you want a dramatic look!
  • Cream Lip Stain – want a long lasting look?? try this!!! for real though.. I wear my red lip stain at work & will stay one for the whole duration of our shoots.. it’s impressive!
  • Marc Jacobs Lip Creme Lipstick

Younique Product Review

shop these products at

Woodstruck 3DFiber Lashes
my mom has always told me never leave the house with two things, your lip gloss & your mascara… (cause let’s be honest, we never really know when we might need it) & if you are like me, living on the go, constantly.. then this mascara is your go to!! first and foremost, I am little obsessive when it comes to my eyelashes. the first thing i notice about people are their eyes, because its where we first look upon a conversation.. so I have this fettish with keeping my eyelashes in check! Since I have brownish/blondish hair, I like dark mascara that has a WOW factor. These lashes have just that. this lash formula is enhanced, the new brush is perfect, and it keeps my lashes looking voluminous! and the more volume the better!!

Stiff Upper Lip Stain
when I am working I probably change my lip color 15 times.. and when I am shooting blog posts I am normally in a hurry, throwing on my makeup, and applying my lip wear in the car.. so this upper lip stain has been a savior! It is easy to apply, immediately stains, and keeps a budge-free, tinted, long-lasting look on your lips!

Woodstruck Precision Brow Liner
my eyebrows have a blonde tint to them and wear I a lot of eye makeup, they kinda get lost. So when Rachel reached out to me and asked what products I wanted to try, I knew this was a definite yes.  I have the light shade and love it because it keeps my eyebrows looking very natural and it matches my hair color.  This liner also gives more shape and definition to my eyebrows, which also adds more attention to my eyes.  I think everyone should give it a shot, no matter what style, length, or color eyebrows you may have.

Splurge Cream Shadow
the first step in my makeup routine is applying a cream that keeps my eyeshadow in tact. I have always used MAC, but the color of this plunge cream is so fun, I never want to take it off. The color is “extravagant” which reflects a musty gold, orange to it! I think it’s going to be great to wear this fall and into the holidays, with or without eyeshadow on top of it!

If you have any questions, please feel free to send them my way.
