What’s in my Amazon Prime Day Cart

I am a huge fan of Amazon Prime. I would say 5 out of the 7 days a week I’ve ordered something off there. It can be something as simple as a pineapple corer, velvet hangers, or even vitamins. If I ever run into the postman I might ask him what he thinks about all the amazon packages he delivers for me. I know C thinks it’s obsessive, but hey, who can beat 2 day shipping and avoid a trip to the store!?

In honor of today (cause tbh I think it’s a pretty big day) I’m rounding up some things that I have in my cart! And before I share them with you all beware that a lot of them are home & kitchen accessories! Since I am redecorating the loft I’m in this house mode!

For the Home

Everything from gadgets to bed time needs. These four things are definitely on my list!

  1. Number 1 on the list is an Echo dot for the bedroom. Our Echo right now is on the kitchen desk and I want another one to wake up to. How nice is it going to be rolling over and asking Alexa for the weather report for the day.. while still in bed?  Or it could be dangerous.. I might never want to get up!
  2. Vide Monitoring Security Camera – This may sound silly to you all but I am totally getting this little camera. I want to see what Oslo is up to when we are gone or who comes in the house when we are out of town… makes me feel like I am also on a detective status lol
  3. When I am laying in bed working on my computer I always get the worst arm cramps. I think this memory foam pillow is the fix!
  4. You know you are really an adult when you trade bed sheets in for a new pair of shoes. But since we are thinking about upgrading our bed we need new sets of king size sheets. I am always sketched out to buy these sort of things online but I read the reviews and I feel confident in these!

Kitchen Appliances & Tools

I like to spend money on things I know I am really going to use especially when it comes to kitchen appliances. Over the past couple of years I’ve invested in the Ninja bender, Nuwave air ryer, Gourmia dehydrator, two crock-pots, 3 Keurigs, the Breville Pizza Maker, Kitchen aid mixer, and more. Also, we just had to get a new dishwasher.. that was a drop in the bucket! Anyways, I’m always looking for new cooking tools and coming across things I know I would use. Here are three things I’m thinking about snagging!

  1. Belgian Waffle Maker – I use to have a waffle maker years ago but I don’t have much faith in it anymore. I want a new one and create a Saturday morning waffle bar. Who is with me!?
  2. Vegetable Spiral Slicer – I was looking at getting the 4 blade pro set. Does anyone have an experience with these? I would love to make vegetable spaghetti and curly fries with this!
  3. Rapid Egg Cooker – If you all are like me then you always over or under cook your boiled eggs. Someone once told me to add baking soda to your boiling water and it should help. I think it does but I know I could still use this cooker!

Home & Coffee Table Accessories

I like to call the things scattered around my place knick knacks.. even though they really are better than that. I need some new things for my desk shelves, coffee tables, and night stands. I’m adding these to my cart and I can’t wait to get them!

  1. I’m going to stack the books on top of each other to create some dimension on the coffee table!
  2. I might get this guy to hang above my bar cart or somewhere else! love the gold bull horns
  3. I’m adding some rose gold accents in the kitchen so I figured I should snag these coasters! I’m a huge fan of all the marble right now too!
  4. Love the dog book! lol
  5. Styled!! because I love styling!

For days I don’t go to the gym I wanted some things to use in my house! Now is the time to get them since they are on sale!

  1. I have a smaller ab roller but it is really hard on my back. I use this exact one when I go to the YMCA and love it! definitely getting this!
  2. I bought a YOGA book last year and have yet to use it. I feel like I’m always sore from running and lifting weights that I couldn’t even begin to stretch out my body. Maybe this little tool can help!
  3. I’ve taken this brand of BCAA’s for 2 years now and love them! highly recommend BPI and getting them now because they are cheaper today than at GNC.
  4. Clints cousin is a pro at Hula Hoop. I need her to teach me some tricks then I can use this weighted one!!   I’ve heard these things can work wonders on your core! I’m willing to give it a go!

Dehydrated Granola Bars

I’m a huge fan of granola bars!! Everything from Clif Bars, Kind Bars, Nature Valley, Chewy Quaker Backpacking Bites.. you name it, I like it! Since I got this dehydrator recently I figured why not test out my own granola recipe.  I looked a couple different ones on Pinterest then changed some of the ingredients based off what I like! Keep reading to see what yummy granola I created and how to make it yourself!

  • 2 Cups of Quinoa (I used the Kroger brand and made way too much! If you are judging by the picture haha)
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 cup of dried cranberries
  • 1 bag of dried apple slices
  • 3 red gala apples
  • 25 dates (make sure they are pitted)
  • 1 cup of raw almonds
  • 1 1/2 cups of sunflower seeds
  • 3/4 cup of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons of salt

This recipe will make around 25 cookies! Originally I was trying to shape them into granola bars but I couldn’t quite manage that! It was much easier shaping them into something along the lines of a circle. (you’ll notice in the last picture!)

Also, I highly recommend this dehydrator! It’s easy to use and has so many trays for cooking at once! You can shop it at the end of this post. (It also comes in black)

Step 1: Prepare your quinoa over stovetop.

Step 2: Slice your 3 apples. You can keep the peel on them.

Step 3: In a mixer or food processor, place your cooked quinoa, dates, apples, 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds, and salt. Grind until the mixture is completely smooth.

Step 4: Add your cinnamon. If you are a huge fan of cinnamon you can add a pinch or two more!

Step 5: Continue mixing for a couple more minutes to ensure ingredients are blended. Transfer the mixture into another bowl.

Step 6: In your mixer or food processor add the other 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds, 1/2 cup of cranberries, dried apples, and 1/2 cup of almonds.  Chop the nuts, seeds, and fruit in a couple quick mixes. After, place the beginning mixture back in the food processor (with the other).

Step 7: Add oatmeal and the remaining quinoa, almonds, sunflower seeds, and cranberries to the mixture. Combine and mix well.  If you’re dough is really moist you can keep adding pinches of oats to make it more sticky.  Your mixture should not be runny.

Step 8: Spread the granola dough onto a plastic wrap or cutting board. Shape your dough into bars or cookies.

Step 9: Place your granola on the dehydrator trays. Cook on 140 degrees for 4 hours.

Step 10: After 4 hours flip the bars and dehydrate for another 2 hours.

(Note: If you like your granola bars to be very crunchy I suggest cooking them for another 8-10 hours. I like mine moist and chewy so I only left them in for a total of 6-7 hours)

Step 11: Enjoy!!

3 Day Juice Cleanse

Grocery List- 3 Day Cleanse

3 Day Juice Cleanse

Juice Cleanser

3 Day Juice Cleanse

Juice Cleanser Recipe

What made you want to do a juice cleanse?

I returned from Naples last Monday and just felt so ughhh… we had such amazing food, room service, and drinks, that when I got back I was still full from all we ate! I figured.. why not give my body a break, prepare for my cruise next week, & get some healthy food in my system.  I did a little research, browsed other websites/blogs, looked up recipes on Pinterest, and within an hour I was on my way to Publix!

Are the drinks filling?

After my Day 1, breakfast, drink I thought.. wow.. I am so full!  I also worked out right before it so I think that may have had something to do with it, but it still filled me up! My breakfast drink kept me feeling good until about 4 p.m., when I got out of class, and headed home to drink my afternoon one! sometimes you might find you don’t want to drink it all or don’t like the taste, try not to give up on it.. give it a day or two, let your body adjust, and then see how you feel!

How do the drinks make you feel?

if you are worried about lack of energy or nutrition, no need to worry! I assure you, I felt great throughout the day! if you aren’t use to eating a lot of these foods, you may have to let your body adjust. Either way we all handle food differently, so take it as it is!

Do you have cravings?

absolutely… lets be honest, I have the biggest sweet tooth ever & cravings for JifWhips Peanut Butter all day, everyday…. & it wasn’t any different when I was on these drinks.. you may be full, but sometimes your body just wants what it wants 😉

Did you snack?

When I set my mind to this juice cleanse, I wanted to do it right… although, I have to admit…. I snacked.. it wasn’t in the morning or in the afternoon, it was at night.. after I had a full day of walking around campus, going to work, & exercising. However, I snacked only on Peanut Butter (good protein) & cereal (needed some carbs).  I am very active most days & I think that’s why my body was in need of more!  Either way, the drinks are still great for getting in all your nutrients, cleaning your system, and leaving you with a feeling of very healthy!

Did you stop taking protein shakes while on the drinks?

About 2 months ago, I started drinking protein shakes, 30 minutes post work out. I’ve wanted to try to add a little muscle, get toned, and put some extra meat on my bones! during these 3 days I did stay away from the protein shakes, but the drinks contain enough nutrients to give your body what it needs!

speaking from my experience, after the second day you start to adapt a little more to the drinks and all the fruits & veggies. only thing lacking in my diet is meat. I don’t eat much of it at all, maybe some chicken here & there.. so I’m trying to get better about grabbing a slice or ham or turkey every day & fulfilling my body with some protein it needs.  y’all might try the same! during the cleanse, or after the cleanse.

Keep in mind these drinks are working almost as meal replacements.. unless you are like me & still have to snack a little.. which is fine! we all handle food differently & our bodies react to situations differently! either way, this 3 day cleanse is a great way to fill your body with lots of nutrients, vitamins, & healthy substances, and I assure it will leave you feeling healthy & full!! I’ve never done anything like this before but enjoyed switching up my eating habits for a couple days!

as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!!! if choose to try this, hope your experience is great!

Christmas Recipes

One of my favorite Christmas Traditions is baking holiday treats!!
This year we opted to Oreo Balls, PB Balls, Pretzel M&M’s, and Cookies!
I am sure there will be more to come snack to come.. but for now I’m sharing 2 recipes below!
Hope you enjoy!

Oreo Truffles
One Pack of Double Stuff Oreos
One Pack of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
White Chocolate Morsels (I use the White Almond Bark brand)
*break up oreos (I throw mine in the blender)
* mix in cream cheese (I do this by hand)
* roll into balls
*freeze for 10 minutes (when they harden they are easier to apply chocolate on)
*dip in white chocolate (when heating do it in 1 minute increments. if you heat for too long chocolate will harden)

Peanut Butter Balls
2 Cups of Creamy Peanut Butter (I use JIF brand)
3 3/4 cups of Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp of Vanilla Extract
3/4 Cup of Salted Butter
Milk Chocolate Candy Coating Morsels

*mix all ingredients in a large bowl (I do this by hand)
*roll into balls and cover with chocolate (remember to heat the chocolate in increments so it doesn’t harden)

Favorite Recipes

I think out of all the recipes I have accumulated, I can only really make 3 of them well!
So I know if I can do it, you can too..
So… Here they are 🙂 🙂Buffalo Chicken Dip (all my friends fav)
3 cans of shredded chicken
3/4 bottle of Frank’s Hot Sauce
3/4 bottle of Ranch
(I like to estimate these 2 ^ because more hot sauce gives it a kick, and the ranch dilutes the hot sauce)
3 packages of cream cheese
3/4 bag of Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
*Preheat oven to 375
*Mix in bowl
*Cook for 30 minutes

** I just recently became addicted to the Lime Tostitos! they are addicting!! try them with the chicken dip and you won’t be disappointed!

Potato Soup (with colder weather approaching this recipe is a must)
2 bags of frozen southern style hash browns
2 10 1/2 oz cans Cream of Chick Soup
2 32 oz cartons of chicken broth
1 bag of shredded velvetta cheese
1 tblspn of Onion Powder
1 bag of Real bacon Bits (for topping)
1/2Cream Cheese
*Mix all together in crockpot
*Cook for 6-7 hours
then add 1/2 block of cream cheese until melted

I like to eat my potato soup with a grilled cheese or croissant 🙂

Chicken Tettrazini (cheese and pasta- my fav)
4 cooked chick breasts
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
2 cups sour cream
2 cups shredded cheese
16 oz. thin spaghetti
*combine sour cream, soup, and cheese with the chicken (shred the chicken first)
*pour this over your cooked spaghetti
*Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

Some other Notes***
-If you are looking for a cute cooking apron, Etsy has some cute ones!!
-I made my own cookbook! Got the binder from Michaels, and personalized the tabs inside! It’s a great way to organize your recipes to meet your needs/wants & it’s an easy way to add new ones to it!
-For Mother’s Day last year I got my grandma a different cookbook (binder) from Zazzle… I asked her to add all of our family recipes to it so one day, when I am married with kids, I can carry on all of our cooking traditions and infamous recipes!   If you need a gift, I think this is a great idea!
