Hello & Happy Sunday to all your pretties!!

I finally rounded up some pictures of my mom’s birthday (50th birthday if you didn’t notice– hope she doesn’t mind me telling her age lol) & I wanted to share them with you!!

Think about how many birthday parties, celebrations, and events you have been to in your life… I know for me I can’t even count! now think about how many of them had a theme or followed a certain color scheme…   Growing up my mom use to always go all out with decorations, so through the years it has carried over for me! & I think one of the main things to focus on when party planning is your “theme”! I like to start with ‘color coordinating’ and go from there!  For her specific party I was inspired by Kate Spade- pinks, gold, black, & white! Personally, I think the cake is the most important thing so I start by ordering it, then decorating around it!  We decided last minute we were going to the beach so I didn’t have time to order a fancy one like I planned. Instead I went to publix, got a half chocolate/half vanilla, buttercream frosted cake, with a black border. (note to self- never get black icing again- it stains your hands, nails, tongue, & is a lil messy haha) I went to Michaels craft store and got some pink flowers, cut them down, and spiced up the cake!!  got a little creative but I love the way it turned out!!  If you are on a budget or running low on time this is an easy, adorable idea- add colored flowers to any cake or cupcakes!!

After handling the essentials- cake & presents, I went on to wrapping the gifts — sticking to the black, golds, and pinks!! Then Party City was my next stop for plates, napkins, a table cover, and little decorations! I ordered her Cake Topper Here & her Wine Glass Here!

& just like that.. we had ourselves a decorative, 50th celebration!! Next time you are party planning take into account what you want your overall setup to look like.. start small, then run with your idea!! & my #1 tip is to consider your colors 😉 — hope these pics and ideas give you a little inspiration!

p.s.- Happy 50th Birthday Mommy!! Cheers to you & the next 50! I love you
